About the Challenge

The Voyage

On August 26, 2026, I will embark solo from northern Scotland, aiming to reach Iceland in 14 days, covering approximately 700 nautical miles of the North Atlantic. Navigating day and night in an open dinghy, I’ll face cold, wind, and waves, relying on the boat, modern navigation, safety gear, and determination.

Why August?

August offers the best balance of weather, wind, and daylight for a North Atlantic crossing. Moderate winds, long daylight, and lower storm activity make it ideal, though the sea remains cold and unpredictable, ensuring a true adventure.
